FAQs for Digital Membership Cards

The National Comedy Center is excited to introduce digital membership cards as a benefit to our members. We hope these answers to common questions help you understand your new digital card. Additional questions can be directed to 716-484-2222 or [email protected].

HOW DO I USE MY DIGITAL MEMBERSHIP? >

How will I use my digital membership card?

Your digital membership card is unique to your membership and displays your name, membership level, expiration date, and a barcode for us to scan. Simply show your digital membership card to our staff at the Admissions Desk, Box Office, or Museum Store to take advantage of your member benefits!

 

How do I find my Membership ID number?

Your unique Membership ID number is displayed below the barcode on your digital membership card. Use your Membership ID during checkout at The Comedy Shop or Lucy Desi Shop to access your 15% discount and applicable shipping benefits. This discount may not be combined with other offers.

 

How do I receive my digital membership card?

Digital membership cards will be sent to the primary email address of every active member. You will need to open this email on your mobile device and follow the instructions to download the card. The card will automatically be stored in your phone’s wallet app. Android users may need to install Wallet Passes from the Play Store prior to downloading your card.

 

What if I don’t have a wallet app installed on my phone?

The email you receive will provide step-by-step instructions and a link to download the recommended wallet application to store your digital membership card and similar types of digital cards and passes.

HOW DO I UPDATE MY DIGITAL MEMBERSHIP? >

Will my digital card update when I renew my membership?

Yes! The digital card will automatically update when your membership information changes. For example, your expiration date and membership level will automatically update the next time you renew or upgrade your membership. This means that you only have to download the card once!

HOW DO I USE MY GUEST PASSES & RECIPROCAL MEMBERSHIP? >

How will I receive my guest passes?

Opener membership levels and above will receive their guest passes via email. Upon receipt, you may forward guest passes to your friends and family via email or print them out and distribute physical copies to your guests. Digital or printed guest passes may be redeemed at the National Comedy Center/Lucy Desi Museum admissions desk. All guest passes are unique and may not be duplicated.

 

What is North America Reciprocal Museum (NARM) Association®?

When you become a National Comedy Center member at the “Opener” level or above, you now receive reciprocal membership and admission benefits at over 1,200 cultural institutions that belong to the North American Reciprocal Museum (NARM) Association® network.  NARM is a mosaic of 1,261 art museums and galleries, historical museums and societies, botanical gardens, children’s museums, zoos, and more across the United States, Bermuda, Canada, the Cayman Islands and Mexico.

 

It is always best to contact the institutions prior to your visit to confirm all the reciprocal benefits you will receive. To learn more and explore the NARM network of institutions, please visit narmassociation.org

 

How will my reciprocal benefits work when visiting other museums?

Digital membership cards for Opener member levels and above display NARM banners and list participation in the reciprocal programs as a benefit of the membership level. Simply show your digital membership card at participating museums to receive reciprocal membership and admission benefits.

 

Will my spouse or other members of my household receive a digital membership card?

Yes, for Comedy Duo, Comedy Troup, Headliner, and Comedy Legend membership levels, each member will receive a unique digital membership card via email.  If a membership with two members has only one email address on record, then both digital membership cards will be sent to this email address. Members can then forward the email or use the share feature of the wallet app to ensure that their spouse receives their digital membership card.

 

Only share your digital membership card with those named on the card. Membership benefits will only be extended to those named on your digital card.

ADDITIONAL SUPPORT >

How do I add the membership card to my iPhone?
Access the email from your smartphone and click the “Download” button, then click “Add to Wallet” and “Add.” The card will automatically go to your iPhone’s Apple Wallet. It can be accessed in Wallet at any time.

 

How do I add the membership card to my Android phone?
Android users need to download Wallet Passes from Google Play. After you have the app, access the email from your smartphone and click “Download” in the membership email, and the card will automatically go to your Wallet Passes app, where it can be accessed at any time.

 

I’d prefer not to use this digital membership card, what should I do?
If you prefer to receive a physical membership card instead, please contact us at [email protected].

 

I don’t have a mobile smart phone, what can I do?
Please contact us at [email protected]. We will issue you a physical membership card.

 

I have a question about my membership benefits.
Please direct questions about membership or benefits to [email protected].

 

My name is spelled wrong/membership level is incorrect.
Please contact us to update your membership records.

 

My family member is on this membership account also, how can she/he receive the card?

 

iOS

Only share your digital membership card with those named on the card. Membership benefits will only be extended to those named on your digital card.

 

Navigate to the back of the card (tap on the “…” button on the front), then tap on the share icon at the top right to send the card to your secondary member.

 

Android

Navigate to the back of the card (tap on the small “i” on the front) and use the “Share Pass” button to send the card to your secondary member.

 

Only share your digital membership card with those named on the card. Membership benefits will only be extended to those named on your digital card.

 

I downloaded my card, but I can’t find it.
If you have an iPhone, the card will automatically download to Apple Wallet. Check the app for your new card (scroll through any cards that are already there–it may be hiding!). If you have an Android, you’ll need to download Wallet Passes from the Play Store prior to downloading the card.
