Say Yes! Kids Improv Class
Get ready to laugh, play, and create on the spot!

This fun and energy-filled improv class introduces students to the art of improvisation—where scenes, characters, and stories are made up in the moment. Led by National Comedy Center educators, each day includes creative games, group activities, and plenty of opportunities to perform.
Students will explore the fundamentals of improv:
- Saying “yes” to ideas
- Listening and collaborating
- Creating bold characters and imaginary worlds
- Finding the fun and humor in every scene
Whether your child is outgoing or just finding their voice, improv helps build confidence, teamwork, and quick thinking—all while having a great time.

Meet the Instructor: Elie Docter
Having studied at renowned comedy training facilities including Upright Citizens Brigade, The Second City, and The PIT, Elie Docter brings a wealth of improv experience and comedic insight to her teaching. While studying at NYU, she interned at Saturday Night Live and later worked on an HBO series with Mindy Kaling. These experiences have further solidified her place in the world of professional comedy.
Elie grew up steeped in the world of comedy and creativity—her dad is Pete Docter, Chief Creative Officer of Pixar, a member of the National Comedy Center’s Advisory Board, and a speaker at Chautauqua Institution during week two of the 2025 season. It’s no surprise that Elie found her own path into the world of laughter.
Elie believes improv makes you braver, kinder, and a whole lot sillier—and she can’t wait to share the joy of improv with the next generation of comedy stars!
